Slow down, unwind, relax and hand stitch. Your tutor for this course is Helen Layfield
Using the beautiful gardens at Nynehead Court as our starting point we will explore the traditional techniques of Kantha, suijani and Shaskiko stitching to create a new mindful way of working with fabric and threads.
This full day workshop will show you how to gather information from the gardens through the use of simple sketching. An introduction to both Northern Indian Kantha / Sujani and Japanese Shashiko /Boro traditional hand stitched embroidery will enable you to develop your own style and technique of slow stitch.
This class is suitable for complete beginners through to the more experienced stitcher.
